Due to deliberate medical neglect and the restrictive measures imposed by Israeli prison administrations, particularly in Naqab and Ofer prisons, an outbreak of scabies (Sarcoptes scabiei) has recently spread among Palestinian detainees. The disease is ravaging their bodies as they are systematically denied access to basic hygiene: showers, clean clothing, haircuts, and grooming.
Overcrowding in poorly ventilated and unsanitary cells has further worsened the crisis, compounded by the prisoners' forced deprivation of fresh air and sunlight. Despite repeated appeals by the detainees, the Israeli Prison Service continues to ignore demands for adequate medical treatment and the provision of minimum health standards to contain the outbreak and alleviate their suffering
