4The ship "Al-Dhamir" (Conscience) — one of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s vessels — set sail carrying hope in its heart and humanitarian aid in its hold, destined for the besieged Gaza Strip, under blockade for over two months.
It departed from Greece, defying the siege and death itself, with international activists and crew members on board — people united not by religion or language, but by their shared and vibrant humanity.
Yet the occupation cannot tolerate even a hand extended in peace.
The ship was bombed near the coast of Malta by an armed Israeli drone — as if it were being punished simply for attempting to deliver medicine and food to those denied life.
Those aboard "Al-Dhamir" were neither Palestinians nor Arabs, but human beings who chose not to remain silent.
And this attack is yet another testament to the brutality of the occupation — which sees every hand reaching out to Gaza as a threat… even if that hand is made of light.
