Palestinian journalist Hassan Aslih, one of the most prominent field reporters in the Gaza Strip, was martyred following a direct targeting by Israeli occupation forces—another crime added to the ongoing series of violations against Palestinian journalists.
Aslih had been injured about a month earlier in an airstrike that targeted his tent inside the “Journalists’ Camp” in Khan Younis, while he was documenting the assault on civilians. After being transferred to a hospital for treatment, the Israeli war machine pursued him even there, targeting his hospital room and leading to his death.
This crime underscores that the occupation is not content with silencing the Palestinian voice in the field, but actively hunts down journalists even as they lie wounded in hospital beds—a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian laws.
